If you are coming up on the final days of your car’s original manufacturer’s warranty, and you are worried about something going wrong soon afterwards, you can relax. There are ways to extend auto warranty coverage, so that your vehicle will be covered for years to come.

No matter what type of auto warranty coverage you have – either the original manufacturer’s warranty or an extended warranty – you will still need to know the details of exactly what is covered, and what is not.

The specifics of your warranty are going to vary, depending on the make and model of car you own, the year it was made, whether you bought it new or used, and a myriad of other details. But in general, there are some things that are universally covered by warranties.

Engine: This will be covered, no matter if it’s a manufacturer’s warranty or an extended warranty, but don’t assume that everything under the hood counts as an “engine” part. Things that are considered “consumables” aka items that wear out, like fan belts, are usually not covered. But should a major engine problem arise that is not due to misuse, lack of care or other negligence, the warranty will cover the costs of replacement or repair.

Transmission: This is considered part of the drive train, and again, will be covered in both situations. Don’t expect to have repairs done if the damage is caused by misuse or accidents – if you dent the tranny pan, it will be your insurance that covers the repairs, not the warranty.

Parts and Labour: This is generally covered under both plans, as it pertains to repairing or replacing other covered items. That does not include an oil change.

Front/Rear Wheel Drive and 4×4: Any damage done that was due to faulty parts here will be covered under most warranty programs.

Air conditioning: It may be a luxury addition to your new car package, but if something fails, your warranty will cover the costs of blowing cold again.

Brakes: Again, there are lots of consumables in your brake assembly. Don’t expect normal wear to be replaced on your brake pads, rotors or shoes. However, if another problem causes uneven wear, you may get replacements under your warranty program. Check the fine print.

There are plenty of other items that may be covered under your warranty, including electrical problems or shorts, any failures in the seals and gaskets, and so on. Some programs will also offer incentives and assistance for the time while your car is out of commission. This could include things like emergency transportation cost reimbursement, loaner rental costs, and any number of roadside assistance programs. Of course, the only way to know for sure what is covered under your auto warranty coverage is to read it for yourself, and make sure you understand what your responsibility is.

National Vehicle Protection Services, Inc. is a proud member of the Vehicle Protection Association (VPA) in good standing almost three years now. Beyond their own association membership, the providers whom they offer the extended protection plans have also been recognized by the BBB and the VPA as reputable and well recognized companies. Work with a company you can believe in when it comes to the protection of your vehicle. National Vehicle Protection Services, Inc. knowledgeable representatives will ensure you understand your policy and is dedicated to you full satisfaction.

Pleasure boat insurance on a Sailboat, Motor-driven Yacht or a small Runabout can range from a comprehensive or all risks scheme, to the more affordable, but limit protection of a liability policy. When it comes to deciding on the ideal insurance plan, it’s advantageous to take a moment to consider all potential risks and eventualities, as well as the overall costs to spend to protect the initial investment.

All risks policies offer the widest cover available to a boat owner wishing to protect a new or valuable watercraft. With a comprehensive insurance plan, a boater is ensured full protection as a result of a complete loss, from a devastating storm, or from striking an underwater object, to smaller claims on items of navigational or electronic equipment. All risk schemes will provide protection to the insured vessel, engine and machinery, as well as personal injury, removal of wreck and salvage charges, towing costs, and legal protection coverage.

If insuring an old or low value vessel it’s often possible to restrict coverage to a liability or third party only scheme. This type of protection is available at a more affordable premium and offers protection to a third parties vessel only, resulting from damage caused due to the negligence or fault of the other party. Your own vessel wouldn’t be cover under a liability only scheme. In some cases these policies can often be extended to include salvage and removal of wreck charges – this is a benefit should a vessel become half-submerged in a harbor or marina.

In certain situations, there isn’t a choice on the type of insurance to be arranged. If a vessel is purchased on credit, it’s a requirement to hold all risks protection on a vessel for the duration of the finance agreement. In addition, certain marinas and harbors require all risks coverage in force to be able to use there facilities. Although, liability polices are the cheapest option by far for an owner seeking pleasure boat insurance it’s still crucial to weigh up the pros and cons to the various options open to ensure that the correct coverage is put in place.

But you have to take care that you are consistent with your premium of the insurance.

Not only problems with renters but you can get insurance for other disasters that might damage your property. Other than Rental Loss Insurance you can take the facility of Building Insurance, which comprises insurance for the damage caused by storms, floods, earthquakes and many more. Contents Insurance is another category which ensures the safety of staffs like carpets, sofas, curtains, etc. There is Alternative Housing Insurance which allows the landowner to get optional housing support if their property gets uninhabitable for any reason. There are high chances that your business represents a huge investment that is why you would want to be protected in case anything bad was to happen to your ships. This will provide you with peace of mind knowing that any losses which might occur will be covered by the insurance company. Marine insurance is a special type of insurance meant to cover for loss or damage of cargoes, ships and terminals. Basically it is designed for any type of cargo or transport which transfers property. This insurance is very useful if you are the owner of a business and you work with valuable items.

When you are working abroad, whether as a missionary, a nanny, or a student, you should check on travel insurance. Standard travel insurance covers any emergency medical expenses, personal accident, personal liability including a rented accommodation, theft, or damage to your bags. Due to the specifics of working outside of your home country with the duration of your stay over 6 months and where the possibility of acquiring the assistance from locals is limited you should rethink your travel insurance needs.

Some of the most popular programs that would require you to travel overseas are the Peace Corps, doing missionary work, working as an Au pair for a family that is either visiting or living aboard, and a student exchange. The Peace Corps and missionary work is similar with the main difference being that missionary work can come from many churches. Both require you to work with underprivileged people, some in the third-world countries. Working as an Au pair is a fancy name for a nanny. Working at this job, you will be responsible for taking care of the children, making sure that they eat on time, take a bath, and go to bed on time. They are also responsible in making sure that the children are entertained when not in school.

Working at any of these jobs comes with some risks. One of the main risks is your health, especially if you are in the Peace Corps or working as a missionary. Some of the places where you will be working at have no running water, or bathroom facilities, and they live in houses with a dirt floor. Working in these conditions you can get malaria or ill from bacteria-infected water or food. You need to make sure that you have an adequate health insurance to cover the diseases you might get. Working as an Au Pair, you should also have a health insurance policy to cover any accidents, illnesses or personal liability. Be warned that certain insurance companies will have a limited coverage for people involved in such types of program so be advised to check out what kind of benefits you will receive from them.

To obtain a European car insurance one doesn’t need to be a resident of Europe. Usually, a Certificate of Motor Insurance is sufficient. However, European Residence makes the process much simpler. It also makes it that much easier for your car not to get impounded if it was to get involved in a road accident in Europe. Since we are on this subject, remember that Europeans drive on the left side of the road, and that may take a little getting used to. Most car insurance companies will be able to help you with one, on request. A green card serves as an international badge or as proof of insurance hence, it is recommended for you to possess one.

The cost normally soars a little bit when the vehicle is taken abroad. However, you can opt for temporary cover, to ensure that your budget falls back in place after the visit. Your insurance company should be able to give you the details on the nuts and bolts of how much you will be stretching your cover if you were to drive around in Europe. Usually there is a change in the breakdown cover because the cost of replacement of automobile parts varies in different countries.

European auto insurance does not always come with legal or breakdown insurance unless it is specifically asked for. You will surely need to look around a little bit before you can zero in, on an affordable European car insurance option.

About a week before you set out for Europe; remember to get the car serviced. Since you will be using the vehicle more than you do normally, ensure that your mechanic services it accordingly. Some repair mechanics also help you adjust the car headlights, as it would be preferred in Europe. What you spend on your European car insurance can be recovered through the fuel cost because petrol in Europe in fairly inexpensive.

There are basically two types of insurance cover. Firstly, there is the temporary cover which is ideally suited to holiday makers and people going on short visits. Then there is the more comprehensive cover which is specifically for people intending to stay in Europe for extended periods of time.

Some insurers will automatically offer comprehensive European car insurance cover for up to 90 days, valid in all EC countries with no requirement that the motorist must inform the insurer the intended dates of travel. This is ideal for holiday travellers and perfect for short business trips. Other insurers will want to know beforehand the date of travel and the duration of the trip. They will also inform you of the amount of free European car travel insurance cover you are entitled to and what additional cover is available.

Some companies will charge a little extra for comprehensive insurance including European breakdown cover. Something to be aware of, the cost of recovering a vehicle outside of the UK especially when there are no suitably equipped garages nearby to service the car can be extremely expensive. For instance, Auto parts in Europe for cars with right hand drives are not commonly available and the cost of returning a car to the UK could run into several hundreds of pounds.

One important document you will need to take with you and your insurer will provide is the ‘Green Card’, although this is no longer a legal requirement when travelling in Europe it can make life so much easier in the event of an accident. The green card is internationally recognized and confirms that you have the minimum level of car insurance coverage.

Finally if you do intend to spend more time in mainland Europe and require a longer term insurance cover it may be worth considering an international car insurance policy. Speak to your insurer, they will be able to advise you which policy would be best suited to your needs.
